The saltworks in Jamnagar is a bustling place, where seawater is pumped into large, shallow ponds and allowed to evaporate under the sun. The resulting salt crystals are then harvested, while the remaining brine is pumped into more ponds for further evaporation and salt extraction. The evaporation ponds create a unique ecosystem, attracting a variety of bird species. The Greater Flamingos, with their striking pink plumage, are a sight to behold. The Black-winged Stilts, known for their long legs, and the Western Reef Herons, known for their distinctive plumage, are equally beautiful. |
